RESPONSIBILITIES / ROLES:
▪️Production: Responsible for daily greenhouse operations to produce quality seedlings, from sowing, germination, and fertigation to hardening off.
▪️ Irrigation & Nutrition: Manage nursery water irrigation and nutrition schedules, monitoring water quality (pH/EC) to ensure optimal seedling vigour.
▪️ Plant Health & Biosecurity: Execute rigorous sanitation, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and rapid pest/disease control programs to protect all nursery batches.
▪️ Trials & R&D: Coordinate variety trials, test emerging seed varieties, and evaluate agronomic performance data.
▪️ Labour & Team Leadership: Supervise and schedule greenhouse labour, conduct morning briefings, and enforce high production standards.
▪️ Input & Stock Management: Monitor inventory (seeds, media, trays, fertilisers, crop protection chemicals) to prevent stockouts and avoid waste.
▪️ Farmer Field Advisory: Provide technical after-sales visits, troubleshooting transplanting and early crop establishment for clients.
▪️ Record Keeping: Maintain accurate batch documentation, germination logs, chemical application records, and input utilisation.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
▪️ Minimum of a Diploma in Agriculture with a bias in Horticulture, or related field with 2+ years of practical agriculture experience.
▪️ Professional Registration: Registered member of the Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ), or eligible for immediate registration.
▪️ Plant Protection: Strong practical ability to diagnose and treat nursery pests and fungal/bacterial diseases, with sound knowledge of safe chemical handling and sprayer calibration.
▪️ Water & Nutrition: Practical experience in nursery irrigation systems, fertigation management, and nutrient solution preparation.

SKILLS:
▪️ Strong team leadership and supervisory skills.
▪️ Good computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel for data entry, inventory tracking, and nursery reporting.
▪️ Strong communication skills via email and structured WhatsApp reporting.
▪️ Mobility: Must possess a valid driver’s license.
