Role Overview
The Risk & Compliance Officer will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, financial, and regulatory risks across all product lines. You will work closely with product, technology, finance, and legal teams to embed compliance controls into daily processes and to prepare for audits and regulatory examinations.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a risk‑based compliance framework aligned with local and international regulations (e.g., AML/CFT, FATF, Central Bank requirements).
- Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and monitoring of transactions to detect suspicious activity.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports, licences, and filings in a timely manner.
- Advise senior management on emerging regulatory trends and their impact on the business.
- Design and deliver compliance training programmes for staff.
- Liaise with external regulators, auditors, and industry bodies.
- Continuously improve policies, procedures, and controls to address new risks.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in risk or compliance roles within fintech, banking, or payments.
- Knowledge of anti‑money‑laundering (AML) regulations, KYC/AML processes, and financial‑crime prevention.
- Familiarity with mobile‑money and remittance regulations in Zambia and the broader African region is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience
- Experience with regulatory technology (RegTech) solutions.
- Exposure to cross‑border payments and remittance platforms.

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
- Flexible working arrangements and a collaborative office environment.

Location
Head office in Lusaka, Zambia, with occasional travel to regional offices or industry events.
